Leon Marsh - Founder & CEO

Leon Marsh BSc

Founder & CEO

Leon is the founder and driving force behind Bodytrak® and inventor of the technology.  Leon's main roles are in innovation and patent development, product development, business development and raising finance for the business.  His vision for the business is to deliver unrivalled solutions which enable users to experience significant improvements to their health, well-being and performance.

Leon’s background is in industrial design where he spent over 10 years with Philips and Nokia, working across design, innovation, product development and manufacturing in the UK, mainland Europe and the Far East.

Geoffrey Drage - Chairman

Geoffrey Drage OBE, FCA

Chairman

Geoffrey trained as a chartered accountant in the City and has since held Directorships for 25+ years in both private and public organisations.  Geoffrey co-Founded two technology companies, one of which was sold to US NASDAQ quoted OSI Systems Inc.  Geoffrey has been involved in the business almost since inception and his role is focused around corporate governance, finance and strategy.

Geoffrey was awarded an OBE for services to intellectual property In January 2009 having held governance board or committee memberships with the World Intellectual Property Organisation, the European Patent Office, and the UK Intellectual Property Office.

Richard Collins - Head of Product

Head of Product

Richard is a senior technologist who joined the Bodytrak team as Head of Product in 2017 having previously worked in roles directing development and product strategy with several major mobile and IoT technology providers. He is a specialist in building innovative, smart devices from first concepts and creating the development process through to full market launch. His experience in product management spans both consumer electronics and enterprise markets.

In his role as product lead, Richard's primary focus is managing the Bodytrak product development roadmap and ensuring the success of the Bodytrak product launch. He is also responsible for maintaining strong, productive relationships with our manufacturing partners, and building relationships with companies whose technology compliments our own work in biometric physiological monitoring, life preservation and connected healthcare.

Alec Creighton - Head of Business Development

Head of Business Development

Alec heads up business development activities crossing strategy development and implementation, strategic partnerships, marketing & PR.

Alec has held senior management positions in both the private and public sectors in both the USA and the UK. In the private sector, Alec focused on developing, maintaining and farming key commercial accounts in the banking sector. Within the public sector, Alec was responsible for three key services in primary care as well as developing business strategies for securing funding from multiple public domains.

Stephanie Brand - Financial Controller

Financial Controller

Stephanie has worked in Finance for over 20 years in a variety of businesses from Blue Chip to SMEs. She has held senior Finance positions within a variety of sectors including Aerospace, Telecoms and Health. She has considerable experience in running Finance departments as a whole, as she does at Bodytrak - enabling her to look at the detail as well as the strategic needs of the business.

Stephanie graduated from Middlesex University with a BA in Accounting & Finance. She then went on to train for her CIMA qualification which she completed.

Dr Su-Shin Ang - Principal R&D Engineer

Principal R&D Engineer

Ed is a Principal Engineer at Bodytrak® and, as well as leading the engineering team, specialises in advanced signal processing and algorithm development/data analytics, refining sensor signals into valuable insights for our customers.

Ed has a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Imperial College London and has published journal and conference papers for the Journal of Real Time Image processing, Field-Programmable Custom Computing Machines, Field-Programmable Technology, and the British Medical Journal.

PR Team - Senior PR Consultants

Senior PR Consultants

Caroline has around 20 years’ experience working for some of the biggest global brands and most exciting technologies. She helped to launch Google, eBay UK and Directline.com, spent four years directing campaigns for Microsoft across multiple divisions and has handled international communications for Motorola Mobility, KPN, Samsung, Sony and a host of others.

Sian has 15 years of PR experience specialising in B2B and B2C technology, with a track record of delivering award-winning high impact campaigns for startups and established brands - both in-house and agency. She led global PR for Canonical and Ubuntu across the business from mobile, desktop and IoT to cloud.

Caroline & Sian are now Bodytrak’s Senior PR Consultants, helping to promote Bodytrak in the US and UK; directing a range of communications activities including Bodytrak’s successful launch at the Consumer Electronics Show in early 2017.

Calin Soporan - Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Calin is responsible for bringing the product to life and developing the embedded software/firmware running on the device making sure it is efficient, stable and scalable.

With 10 years’ experience in Embedded Engineering, Calin has been working within a wide range of technologies with expertise in board bring-up, device drivers and software/firmware development on both bare-metal and Linux embedded products. He has been working on the full life cycle of products in a wide variety of industries including automotive, railway, access control, aerospace and defence, media and wearables.

Lisa Henderson - Sport & Clinical Exercise Physiologist

Lisa Henderson MSc

Sport & Clinical Exercise Physiologist

Lisa leads product and research trials at Bodytrak®, specialising in the development of trial protocols, trial set up and data collection. Lisa will also be integral to the assimilation, analysis and distribution of trial data via white papers, and has invaluable experience in this field. 

Lisa graduated from Loughborough University with a BSc Sport and Exercise Science in 2010, and an MSc in Exercise Physiology in 2011. Lisa’s most recent role at the Surrey Clinical Research Centre required her to work on all aspects of early phase clinical trials, including protocol development, trial set up and practical data collection.

Cianan O'Dowd - Senior Product Designer

Cianan O'Dowd BSc

Senior Product Designer

Cianan’s role runs across the entire design spectrum from initial user research and early stage concept design through to the physical product development and design for manufacture of Bodytrak’s physical product offerings.

Graduating from Brunel University with a 1st class degree in Industrial Design & Technology; Cianan has developed products for large companies including Dyson & P&G Gillette, smaller manufacturers in China, and has experience planning and undertaking design research, proposition and concept development, and concept and product testing at consultancy level, both in the UK and abroad.

 

Emily McLoughlin - Product Engineer

Emily McLoughlin MEng

Product Engineer

Emily is a Product Engineer and focuses on mechanical design and product development. She also carries out market research and analysis, as well as interacting with end users where she utilises her background as an Elite triathlete.

Emily graduated from the University of Birmingham with a First class MEng in Mechanical Engineering (Biomedical) and has been racing nationally and internationally as an Elite triathlete for the past 7 years and ranked 3rd British Elite Super Series in 2012 and placed 4th British Elite Triathlon Championships 2013.

Dmitry Iakovlev - Analytics R&D Engineer

Dmitry Iakovlev MEng

Analytics R&D Engineer

Dmitry focuses on implementation of Bodytrak’s core algorithms for vital signs recognition. He also supports system architecture development and hardware prototyping of Bodytrak’s innovative products.

Dmitry has graduated with a first class MEng in Systems Engineering from Loughborough University and is currently on route to a PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering. His academic contributions include journal publications and conferences on system integration of biomedical sensors. Prior to joining Bodytrak, Dmitry had been involved in designing front-end hardware and software for a wearable medical sensor, as well as electronic control units for the automotive market.

Toby Sherwood - Junior R&D Engineer

Toby Sherwood MAI

Junior R&D Engineer

Toby is a junior R&D Engineer at Bodytrak, focusing on algorithm development and biological signal processing. Toby has keen interests in Machine Learning techniques as well as gaining qualifications in software testing.

Graduating from Trinity College Dublin with an M.A.I in Biomedical Engineering in 2016, Toby specialised in advanced manufacturing techniques in combination with medical device design.
